Guardian ad Litem

A guardian ad litem (GAL) is a lawyer who looks out for the best interests of another person rather than representing that person's wishes. They are needed in cases when someone cannot make legal decisions for themselves, such as children or legally incompetent people. In those cases, the court will appoint a GAL to look out for the person during the legal process. 

Attorney Sisler is qualified to act as a guardian ad litem (GAL).  She has acted in this role for family cases (divorces, paternities, adoptions, etc.), guardianships of adults and minors, and CHIPS cases (abused/neglected children).
